UCSD Talk on Light Pre-Pass Renderer

So the Light Pre-Pass renderer had its first public performance :-) ... I talked yesterday at UCSD about this new renderer design. There will be a ShaderX7 article as well.

Pat Wilson from Garagegames is sharing his findings with me. He came up with an interesting way to store LUV colors.
Renaldas Zioma told me that a similar idea was used in Battlezone 2.

This is exciting :-)

The link to the slides is at the end of the March 16th post.

Any chance on getting the slides? :)

Is this likely to make its way back into Rage? I'd heard talk of spherical harmonics a short while ago.

If you have access to the PLAYSTATION3 Developers Conference 2008 slides (on the Sony Developers site) have a look at the Insomniac slides.

Another presentation on rendering actually references this blog.

Hi Damian, yes I was there and talked a bit about this renderer design :-)
Mike Acton asked me to do this in the Q&A.
